The Spirit of Fall

In our house Fall marks the beginning of the crafting and baking season. You have to just love the smell of pumpkin spice cake baking in your oven and all the messy crafts like pumpkin carving and paper mache. This week Robbie and I decided to make some fun caramel apples for our Jetty's teachers. After all, the people who teach our children and take care of them at school and on the bus are pretty special people and deserve a treat now and then.

Today I start one of the biggest baking challenges I have ever had and I am both excited and nervous to get started. I have been asked to create a carved 3d Lightening McQueen cake for a little boy birthday on Saturday. I feel confident in my skills but it is definitely going to be a challenge and I can't wait to see the finished product.

Also, I have to put my pug in...I have entered one of cakes into a contest to win 2 VIP tickets to meet the Cake Boss himself Buddy Valasto! I need everyone to please follow the link and "LIKE" my cake. And I am asking that everyone please ask everyone they know to vote for my cake as well.

Dance! Dance! Dance!

Over the weekend we took IV to his first wedding. I had no idea my child loved to dance just as much as I do. I have always felt like have a dancing "rhythm" inside of me and I think I might have just passed that right on to IV. I am not talking about choreographed dancing or anything like that but just the urge to bust a move when you hear a good song...rather you look good doing it or not. I think we will be listening to more music around here and exercising our inner rhythm. Its pretty amazing to just stop and really take a look at your little ones sometimes because you can really see yourself and your significant other in them separately but together all at the same time and that is pretty cool.

I also want to add that I am grateful that IV has so many loving Aunties! I have so many wonderful memories with my own Aunties as a child that it really makes me happy to see IV build memories and relationships with his. Family really is a special thing and I am excited to keep on growing ours.

Happy Fall

With just 28 days left til Halloween Robbie and I decided we better get in the spirit! I wanted to make pumpkin cookies and Robbie wanted ghosts...so we just made both. Of course we don't eat all these goodies ourselves we pass them on to others in hopes that it will put a smile on their face and get them in the spirit! I love to see my little boy not only bring joy to others but to himself.
